Novitas develops custom slot die for new energy batteries, electrochemical systems, and advanced functional thin films.
We combine precision machining with application-focused engineering support, helping clients move from lab R&D to mass production scale-up.
A slot die is a specialized metal mold with a narrow-slit outlet, designed for producing materials of high flatness. By designing the physical structures, such as manifold and lip, under a stable slurry delivery, it can form a wet film on the substrate uniformly. The wet film undergoes drying in subsequent processes to achieve the desired dry film. Its sealed structure offers significant advantages over traditional blade and comma coating in terms of coating uniformity, prevention of slurry property changes, environmental friendliness, and cleanliness, making it a high-level coating technology in modern industrial systems.

About services
Optional configurations
Yes. We support fixed or adjustable designs within 100 ~ 2,000 mm. The final configuration is defined based on machine constraints, flow requirements, and coating stability targets. We can assist clients throughout the entire process to complete parameter settings.
Yes. The typical viscosity range is 1 ~ 50,000 cps. Design selection depends on slurry rheology, solids content, supply pressure / pump type, and target film thickness.
Uniformity is influenced by slurry distribution, lip parallelism, shim thickness control, flow-channel design, and machine-level factors (e.g., web tension). We can provide CTQ inspection reports based on project requirements.
Yes. We support low-volume builds and structural iterations during R&D and scale-up, focusing on stability and predictable engineering outcomes. We can continue to support the industrialization projects of research institutions and college research groups.
Yes. We can collaborate on slot die design, as well as slurry supply interfaces, positioning, maintenance accessibility, and performance alignment with the machine platform.
Yes. Material options include 316L, 630, and Hastelloy. Selection is based on the specific chemical environment and compatibility needs. In some cases, we conduct sample testing with clients in advance.
Yes. We can provide lip precision inspection, shim thickness inspection, and CTQ full inspection reports as required by the project.
Yes. We offer remote engineering support (parameter optimization, issue diagnosis, maintenance guidance), and can provide refurbishment and spare parts support when needed.
